GHS Blood Drives Set for May 4, June 1

Georgetown, SC-Every minute of every day, someone needs blood, and that need increases during summer.
To meet the heightened demand, Georgetown Hospital System is sponsoring blood drives May 4 and June 1.
Waccamaw Community Hospital will hold its blood drive Friday, May 4, in the Wachesaw Conference Center at 4367 Riverwood Drive.
Individuals can donate blood from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Rooms 1A and 1B.
Appointments can be made by calling 843-652-1135 or going to http://www.redcrossblood.org and using sponsor code WaccamawHosp. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Georgetown Memorial Hospital will hold its blood drive from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday, June 1, in the hospital’s private dining room. Appointments can be made by calling 843.527.7173 or going to http://www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are also welcome.
In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.
Individuals who donate blood during May will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 gift card from the American Red Cross.
