Georgetown Hospital System Hosts Regional Health Screening

Georgetown, SC—Georgetown Hospital System’s Community Health Education Department will host a Regional Health Screening on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Forestbrook Baptist Church gymnasium, located at 2051 Forestbrook Road in Myrtle Beach.  The health screening will take place from 7:30 a.m. –10:30 a.m.

The screenings are designed to provide greater community-wide access to health care resources and information. 

Health screenings to be offered include: hs-CRP (Cardiac Risk Assessment)-$25,  Chemistry Panel--$20, CBC w/differential--$20, TSH (Thyroid Screen)--$10, Hgb A1C screening for diabetes--$10, PSA for Men--$10 and free blood pressure screenings.  Chemistry Panel tests require a 10-12 hour fast.  In addition to the lab offerings, there will be many other free screenings. Physician referral services and other health information will also be available.

Although not mandatory, advance completion of registration materials is strongly encouraged. Registration packets for the event are available at the information lobby areas of Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Waccamaw Community Hospital.  Persons who plan to participate in the May 13 screenings may pick up one of the packets in advance, complete it and bring it to the event to help expedite the process.
