2010 Lights of Love Trees Will Be Lit December 1
Monday, November 22, 2010
Georgetown, SC—Georgetown Hospital System’s Auxiliary will conduct the annual Lights of Love tree lightings at Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Waccamaw Community Hospital on Wednesday, December 1 at dusk.
The Lights of Love campaign raises money to award scholarships to third-year college students pursuing careers in healthcare. In 2010, the Auxiliary awarded three $5,000 scholarships.
For a tax-deductible contribution of $5 or more, one can honor or remember a special person in their life with a light that will shine on these Lights of Love trees. Donations will also be accepted to honor military members who have served or are currently serving. These trees will be lit throughout the holiday season. Each contribution will be acknowledged by campaign volunteers with a special card notifying the recipient or family of your gift. The gift will also be recognized and displayed in a special “Lights of Love” book located in the Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Waccamaw Community Hospital lobbies from mid-December through the end of January.
Those wishing to donate online can log on to the GHS website at www.georgetownhospitalsystem.org and complete the donor form. Donation forms will also be available at the GMH and WCH information desks. For more information, contact the GHS Auxiliary at 843-527-7107.
