Nobles Receives Pharmacist of the Year Honor

Georgetown, SC –GHS Medication Reconciliation Coordinator Greg Nobles, RPh, was recently named the Hospital Pharmacist of the Year by the South Carolina Society of Health System Pharmacists.
Nobles was recognized for his work throughout the state regarding medication reconciliation. He led the effort to design a pharmacy-driven medication reconciliation process for Waccamaw Community Hospital that was recognized as a best practice by the Joint Commission. He is a regional, state, and national leader in the effort to inform health care officials and citizens about the importance of patient and medication safety. He has delivered more than 75 local presentations to churches, schools, health fairs, and community civic meetings regarding this subject. He also represented the state at the National Patient Safety Improvement Corps in Washington, DC to showcase the South Carolina Hospital Association’s (SCHA) project to improve patient safety. Nobles serves on the SCHA Quality Council, the National Quality Forum, and as president of the South Carolina Pharmacy Association-Grand Strand Region.
