Imaging Center MRI Receives ACR Accreditation

Monday, November 16, 2009

Murrells Inlet, SC— Georgetown Hospital System’s Imaging Center at Waccamaw Medical Park has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in Magnetic Resonance Imaging as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR)

The three-year ACR accreditation is for the period ending October 31, 2012. ACR awards accreditation to facilities for high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR’s Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report.
