GHS Physicians Perform Successful MRI-guided Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
Tuesday, December 09, 2008
Murrells Inlet, SC-- Dr. Craig Brackett, Dr. Robert Whitehead, and a team of MRI and Mammography technologists recently performed the first MRI-guided stereotactic breast biopsy in the Georgetown County area at the Imaging Center at Waccamaw Medical Park.
The MRI-guided procedure detects lesions not normally visible on a typical digital mammogram. This provides convenience for patients who would normally have to travel outside of the area to receive similar diagnostic procedures.
