Georgetown Hospital System Receives Recognition for Website Redesign

Georgetown, SC - Georgetown Hospital System’s redesigned website www.georgetownhospitalsystem.org recently was named a winner in an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals.
The hospital system’s website homepage was named a Gold Award winner in the MarCom Awards 2007 competition. The Gold Award is presented to entries judged to “exceed the high standards of industry norm.” More than 5,000 entries in various categories were judged in this year’s competition. The competition is not, specific nor exclusive to healthcare and typically attracts entries from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops and production companies from throughout the United States and countries throughout the world.
In addition to the Gold Award for Website Home Page Redesign, Georgetown Hospital System’s print campaign advertising the website re-launch earned an Honorable Mention in the competition.
“We are proud of this award and our redesigned website,” said Ronda Wilson, Georgetown Hospital System Marketing and Communications Director. “It was important to our organization to develop a new site design that was functional, interactive, easy to use and informative,” Wilson said. “We know our community depends on us for health information and this new website design makes that information easier to obtain.”
The new website continues to log traffic increases. In October, about 17% more unique visitors logged onto the site than during September. Page views were up nearly 20% in October and average visits per day increased by 13%. The average amount of time each visitor spent on the site showed a slight increase, up about 2 % from September.
