Georgetown Hospital System’s Foundation and Women’s Board Offers Summer Reading Program

Georgetown, SC— Beginning Wednesdays, June 13 through July 25 (excluding July 4) from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Georgetown Hospital System’s Foundation and Women’s Board will sponsor, “Children Reading for Children,” a summer reading program for children ages 6 to 14 at area public libraries.

The sponsored reading efforts of each child will help support the Therapy Assistance Program at NextStep Pediatric Rehabilitation Services, a member of the Georgetown Hospital Family. Program volunteers will register children at each library on the first reading date and monitor the reading program. Children will be sponsored at 25 cents per minute and documented by volunteers. Volunteers will secure these sponsorships. All participants will be honored at a special ceremony at the end of the program on August 1.
