Georgetown Hospital System to Host Charles F. Cooper Flounder Fishing Tournament

Georgetown, SC— Plans are underway for the Fourth Annual Charles F. Cooper Flounder Fishing Tournament to be held June 30 at Pawleys Island Creek.
The event was developed in memory of Charles F. Cooper, a longtime Pawleys Island resident and Georgetown Memorial Hospital Pharmacy Director.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Georgetown Hospital System’s Francis B. Ford Cancer Treatment Center. The 2006 event raised nearly $40,000. The goal of this year’s tournament is $45,000.
Pre-registration is required and registration forms for fishermen are available by contacting Georgetown Hospital System Foundation office at 527-7470. Registration fee is $250 per boat.
The day’s events will begin with breakfast and registration at 6:30 a.m. Fishing begins at 7:30 a.m. The tournament concludes with weigh in at noon and a lunch. Awards will be presented at the lunch.
