Georgetown Hospital System Hospitals Receive “Exceeding Patient Expectations” Awards for 2006

Georgetown, SC— Both Georgetown Memorial Hospital  and Waccamaw Community Hospital were recognized by Avatar International as being national award winners in healthcare service quality for “Exceeding Patient Expectations.”

“I am proud of the dedication our employees display on a daily basis in order to exceed our patient’s expectations,” said Georgetown Hospital System CEO Bruce Bailey, “These awards recognize the efforts of our employees at both hospitals within our system.” 
Both Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Waccamaw Community Hospital have received national awards year after year from Avatar International recognizing Exemplary Service.

Waccamaw Community Hospital located in Murrells Inlet received Avatar’s Exemplary Service Overall Best Performer Award for the year 2005 and 2006. This award is presented to hospitals achieving an Exemplary Service rating for inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory surgery and emergency department surveys. Georgetown Hospital System received Avatar's Innovation Award for 2006. The Innovation Award is presented to departments that demonstrate significant improvement by implementing innovative strategies. Georgetown Memorial Hospital located in Georgetown received Avatar’s Exemplary Service Most Improved Outpatient Care Award for 2005. This national award is presented to hospitals demonstrating the highest improvement rating for outpatient surveys for the calendar year 2005.
