GHS Foundation Hosts 2nd Annual Teddy Bears & Trains

Friday, November 24, 2006

Georgetown, SC – Celebrate the holidays by helping a child in need. Join other area parents and children for Teddy Bears & Trains 2006, a Children Helping Children holiday fundraiser, which will be held on Sunday, December 3rd from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the conference room at HealthPoint in Pawleys Island.

Parents are invited to share this event with their children and help them understand the joy of giving and helping others. Children are asked to bring a new teddy bear or toy train to donate for children who are less fortunate this holiday season. The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Department will then distribute the bears and trains. Event activities will include cookie decorating and holiday crafts.

Tickets for the event, which is being sponsored and coordinated by Georgetown Hospital System’s Women’s Board, are $10 per child when purchased in advance or $15 the day of event. Proceeds from the event will go to the Pediatric Rehabilitation Therapy Assistance Fund.

Tickets are available in the Foundation Office at Georgetown Memorial Hospital (527-7470) or Waccamaw Community Hospital (652-1003).

The Women’s Board, founded in 1989, assists Georgetown Hospital System and the community it serves by hosting various fund raising events throughout the year to benefit the residents of Georgetown County.
