Georgetown Hospital System announces addition of Chief Medical Officer

Georgetown, SC - Dr. Robert H. Fabrey II, M.D., MMM has joined Georgetown Hospital System as Chief Medical Officer, a new role for the organization.

“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Fabrey as part of our staff,” comments Bruce Bailey, CEO of Georgetown Hospital System, “He brings with him a wealth of administrative and medical experience and will be a tremendous asset both for our organization and medical staff.”

Prior to joining the GHS Administrative team, Dr. Fabrey served as a health care consultant for Future Think for the past eight years. He held positions as Senior Vice-President Medical Affairs for Missions/St. Joseph’s Health System in Asheville, North Carolina and practiced family medicine for thirteen years.

Dr. Fabrey received undergraduate education at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, medical education and training from State University of NY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, University of North Carolina and Tulane University in New Orleans.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Fabrey will be responsible for quality and patient safety initiatives. He will assist the board, medical staff, and administration in quality improvement programs.
