1st Annual Baby Expo features 'Ask a Doctor' sessions

Georgetown, SC - Future and new parents, grandparents, and infant caregivers are invited to attend the first annual GHS Baby Expo event to be held Saturday, November 12 at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrell Inlet. Baby Expo participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the Obstetrical Services at Waccamaw Community Hospital and Georgetown Memorial Hospital, plus attend classes devoted to infant care, safety and nutrition. Hospital staff will be available to answer questions about the hospitals and services offered. Tours of the Obstetrical Services at Waccamaw Community Hospital will be held throughout the event.
Local radio station, Star 92.1, is promoting this event and will accept listeners questions about pregnancy, infant care and other related topics. During the event on November 12, members of Georgetown Hospital System’s medical staff will respond to the listeners’ questions collected by Star 92.1. A panel of physicians from local practices will answer listeners’ questions. Physicians will be available from Georgetown Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Winyah Women’s Center, and Carolina OB-Gyn.
Vendor booths will feature infant related products such as maternity and baby clothing, books, toys and photography. Prize drawings and giveaways will be offered at many of the booths.
Classes and physician question/answer sessions will be conducted throughout the day in the Waccamaw Community Hospital First Floor Classroom near the cafeteria.Class topics will include: Healthy Nutrition, Exercise, Benefits of Pregnancy and Infant Massage, Car Seat Safety, Day Care, Breast Feeding and Pain Control Options.
