A Commitment to the Community

When Tidelands Health began to plan for Tidelands Health Medical Park at The Market Common, one of the health system’s top priorities was for the new care location to blend into the surrounding community.

Gayle Resetar reviews blueprints of the buildingThat commitment is on display as construction continues on the new medical park, a state-of-the-art, 65,000-square-foot facility designed to put patients’ needs first.

Conveniently located just off Highway 17 at the corner of Crow Lane and Farrow Parkway, the new medical park will offer primary care and specialty care offices, lab services, rehabilitative care, radiology, pain management and more when it opens in mid-2019.  

The new building will feature an elegant, modern look highlighted by a brick and glass exterior and two cupolas. The property will be professionally landscaped using trees and shrubs that will add beauty and create a natural sound and sight barrier to adjacent properties. Everything from the location of refuse containers to the placement of lighting has been designed with the local community in mind. The lighting, for example, will automatically dim during the evening and overnight hours when the building is not in use.

The design of the building and overall campus earned unanimous support from the Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board, which commended it as an example for others to follow, and the project was also nominated for a real estate award through the Grant Center for Real Estate and Economic Development at Coastal Carolina University.

“At Tidelands Health, we want to be a good neighbor to the people who live and work near our facilities,” said Gayle Resetar, chief operating officer for Tidelands Health. “It’s a core area of focus with any new project we undertake.”
