A Hospital to Meet Our Growing Community’s Needs

With four hospitals and more than 70 care locations along the Grand Strand, Tidelands Health has been serving Horry County for decades and is dedicated to meeting the rapidly growing county’s health care needs. As the community grows, Tidelands Health, in partnership with MUSC Health, is committed to growing with it.

Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital will be conveniently located at the interchange of Highway 31 and S.C. 707 in south Horry County.

“Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital is designed to provide the types of medical services that the residents of this growing area of Horry County need,” says Gayle Resetar, chief operating officer at Tidelands Health. “Horry County is an area our team knows well and is proud to serve through our hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physician practices and specialty care locations.”

The region’s largest health care provider, Tidelands Health was founded more than 75 years ago in Georgetown. More than half of the health system’s patient encounters every year are with Horry County residents.

To meet the health care needs of the growing population, Tidelands Health has made significant investments in Horry County over the last few years.
In 2019, Tidelands Health Medical Park at The Market Common debuted off Farrow Parkway near U.S. 17 Bypass. The three-story medical park ushered in a new era of coordinated care in Myrtle Beach with a variety of providers and services available under one roof. In its first year of operation, the medical park had more than 50,000 patient encounters.

Earlier that year, on the north end of the Strand, Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, opened in Little River. A third location of Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Hospital will be located on the Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital campus.
