Nurses are Extraordinary

Are you a high school junior or senior interested in a career in health care? Discover what it means to be a nurse through Nurses Are Extraordinary, a unique hands-on experience hosted by Tidelands Health.

This annual event gives students from Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties an opportunity to explore the nursing profession, learn from experienced health care professionals and gain firsthand insight into the many career paths available in nursing.

Through interactive activities, conversations with nurses and exposure to a variety of nursing specialties, participants will experience the rewards and impact of a career dedicated to caring for others.

Event Dates

*Students will be selected for only one of the date offerings.

To apply, submit the following at the link below by Sept. 14, 2026:

1. Nurses are Extraordinary application
2. An explanation as to why you would like to attend Nurses are Extraordinary
3. An essay that answers "Why do you want to be a nurse?" (Minimum of 300 words)
4. Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor,or coach
5. A copy of your unofficial transcript

Notice of acceptance/denial will be received via email on or near Sept. 18, 2026. If accepted, you will receive details about the event.
