A message from our board chairman and CEO
For Tidelands Health, 2022 was a year of historic progress.

Already our region’s largest health care provider, we are also its most advanced, offering a greater breadth and depth of services and state-of-the-art technology than ever before.
Building upon our years-long collaboration with MUSC Health, Tidelands Health Cancer Care Network, our region’s most comprehensive provider of care, became the first full affiliate of the new MUSC Hollings Cancer Network, more closely aligning both organizations to help cancer patients become cancer survivors.
Also in partnership with MUSC Health, we are planning to expand local access to advanced cardiac care, recruiting specialists and adding new services including a comprehensive open-heart surgery program and the construction of a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab at the planned Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital.
We now offer robotic-assisted surgery close to home at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, an advanced neurosurgery program and an increasing array of specialized treatments and procedures previously only available in larger metropolitan areas.
Even as we step toward the future, however, we remain grounded in our roots. For more than 70 years, our not-for-profit organization has proudly served our community – promoting wellness, preventing illness, encouraging recovery and restoring health.
Our impact is felt in homes every day where health has been restored and lives improved by our incredible team of more than 2,500 employee, physician and volunteer partners. These outstanding professionals come to work united by a single, shared mission: We help people live better lives through better health.
