A Message from our Chairman of the Board and CEO

This year is a special one for our health system.

Tidelands Health celebrates our 75^th anniversary in 2025, an incredible milestone we’re sure would make our founders proud.

From 1950, when we opened our first hospital in Georgetown County, until today, as our region’s largest health system, Tidelands Health has stayed true to our core mission of meeting the health and wellness needs of our community.

As we reflect on our remarkable journey, we can’t help but be filled with a tremendous sense of gratitude:

Gratitude to early visionaries. The members of Georgetown American Legion Post No. 114 saw the need for Georgetown to have its own hospital – and worked tirelessly to make that grand vision a reality.

Gratitude to our community and partners. Serving this region is why we exist. As a locally owned and operated health system, we live and work in the communities we serve. We’re proud to call this unique place home, and we’re incredibly grateful for the community that rallies around us as we deliver care. Through steadfast partnerships with government agencies, educational institutions, businesses and others, we grow better together to serve our flourishing community.

Gratitude for our incredibly skilled physicians and dedicated employee partners. Our team is the backbone of Tidelands Health. We wouldn’t be here without our devoted team members, and we’re proud of the difference we make in the lives of those in our community every day. We continue to be humbled by the heartfelt letters of thanks we receive detailing the life-changing, compassionate care our team members provide.

Gratitude for our patients and your loved ones. Thank you for trusting us with your care. From our humble beginnings, we’ve always focused on you and the health of our community. While our health system has evolved, that focus has never wavered.

We’re honored to have served you for 75 years, and we look forward to serving you and future generations for years to come.
