Tuesday, February 19, 2013

Georgetown, S.C. – Don’t end American Heart Month without doing your part to keep a heart beating.

A blood drive is set for Feb. 28 at HealthPoint Center for Health & Fitness. And if you can’t make that one, mark your calendar for March 1 for a blood drive at Waccamaw Community Hospital.

HealthPoint’s blood drive is set for 12:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the blood mobile in HealthPoint’s parking lot, 12965 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island. Register online at http://www.redcrossblood.org or call Health Point at 237-2205.

Waccamaw Community Hospital’s blood drive is planned for 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Wachesaw Conference Center across from the hospital. To schedule your appointment, call 843-652-1135 or register online at www.redcrossblood.org, and enter sponsor code WaccamawHosp.

Wachesaw Conference Center is located at 4367 Riverwood Drive, 29576, across the street from Waccamaw Community Hospital.

All blood types are needed, so roll up your sleeve and come give the gift of life. In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.

Both are sponsored by Georgetown Hospital System and the American Red Cross.
