Entering A New Era of Care
Over the last several years, Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital has undergone major renovations — improvements that represent a significant investment in the future of our community. It is an investment that builds on the bold vision that first took shape nearly 70 years ago when a group of leaders determined that the health care needs of our residents would be met by caring professionals right here at home.
The relocation of the hospital’s main entrance and the opening of a new mall along Memorial Lane in August 2016 are the most visible changes to visitors, but those are just two in a series of upgrades approved by the Tidelands Health board of trustees in 2012 with the goal of making patient care better, more convenient and more efficient with easier access.
Easier access begins with expansive, brightly lit public parking on a resurfaced Memorial Lane and continues with entry on that side of the hospital through the new public entrance and the new emergency department entrance. The public entrance opens into a light-filled, 7,000-square-foot mall that features a visitor welcome desk, outpatient registration and easy access where outpatients can obtain most services, including laboratory testing, imaging and certain cardiac procedures such as EKGs, without leaving the area.
We’ve invested millions of dollars to modernize our facility to help ensure area residents have access to high-quality health care close to home.
