Pathway to Excellence

A culture where nurses feel valued and supported by leadership is essential for nursing professionals to do their best and provide quality care for our patients.

Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital and Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital have achieved the prestigious American Nurses Credentialing Center Pathway to Excellence designation. Tidelands Waccamaw also received a $10,000 award for its “Teach-Back” curriculum to increase effectiveness of care at discharge.

Pathway to Excellence means that our hospitals are recognized as two of the nation’s best hospitals for nurses to work and excel. The distinction not only singles out our hospitals for creating environments where nurses feel valued and supported by leadership, but it also recognizes our organization for nurturing a culture where nurses are motivated to do their best every day in caring for our patients, caring for one another and having pride in our organization. Pathway to Excellence means our nurses are part of a team that values communications, teamwork and goes the extra mile for patients.

To achieve Pathway designation, our hospitals completed a thorough review process that documented quality initiatives, including leadership accountability, patient care, safety of work environment and professional development opportunities to create a positive work environment as defined by nurses.

Award-Winning Excellence

In March 2017 Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital earned Pathway to Excellence designation for a second time. The re-designation signifies Tidelands Waccamaw’s ongoing commitment to nursing professionals by maintaining a culture where nurses thrive professionally and personally.
