Choose Tidelands Waccamaw Rehabilitation Hospital to maximize your recovery, independence and quality of life. We’re one of a few facilities in South Carolina accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. You’ll find us especially skilled to care for you after a stroke or limb amputation. That’s because Tidelands Waccamaw Rehabilitation Hospital was the first CARF-accredited facility in the state to specialize in rehabilitation care following both stroke and amputation.

Your Best Rehab Option

In contrast to a skilled nursing facility, our acute inpatient rehabilitation program offers you:

  • Admission seven days a week from any setting
  • At least three hours of therapy five days a week or 15 hours over seven days
  • Physicians and nurses who visit you daily and are available 24/7
  • A low nurse-to-patient ratio — on average, one nurse per five to six patients
  • Hospitalists available around the clock to help manage your medications
  • In-house emergency care
  • A shortened length of stay — 12 to 14 days on average, compared to 21 to 30 days in a skilled nursing facility
